"Serving Millennial Students: New Approaches for a New Generation"
"Millennial students," born in or after 1982, get a lot of attention in the higher education press. Many have lived much of their lives in culturally and socially diverse, technology-intensive environments that are often simultaneously stressful and sheltered. They may bring different approaches to interacting with information, with other people, and with higher education. While there has been much written about the implications that characteristics of the millennial generation may have for our work, all of our students, regardless of age, are being asked to cope with a technology-rich, fast-paced, diverse educational environment. As those who teach, serve, and maintain the institutions that serve these students, how do we effectively respond to these changes and expectations? Explore new approaches, best practices and emerging issues as we face the "brave new world" of serving millennials and others in the 21st century.
