LEARNING RESOURCES (LR) TAG Recommendations Accepted:

Faculty Senate Councils Rules Revisions - The PLT recommendation from the LR TAG to accept the rules revisions as proposed by the faculty senate councils have been accepted for implementation. They are listed below:

Policy for Students Called to Military Service - The PLT recommendation to proceed with the LR TAG proposed policy to address situations encountered when students are called to Military Service was accepted for implementation. The policy provides guidelines for documentation necessary for issuing tuition refunds and course grades.

4.12 Policy on Collaborative Program Development – Revisions - The revisions proposed by the LR TAG and accepted by the PLT were proposed to the KCTCS Board of Regents on August 15, 2003. The revisions align the policy with CPE definitions/guidelines and eliminates the AAT degree since it is being replaced by the AAS degree to address COE and SACS concerns. The policy will be an action item at the December 5, 2003 Board meeting.

 


FINANCIAL RESOURCES (FR) TAG Recommendations Accepted:

Implementation of HB 269 (2002-04 Appropriations Bill) Cost Savings Initiatives -
The PLT recommendation from the FR TAG regarding monitoring and implementation of cost savings procedures as outlined in the 2002-04 Appropriations Bill, has been accepted for implementation. Detailed implementation instructions have been distributed to the colleges.

CPE’s Special Initiatives Request for the 2004-06 Biennial Budget – The PLT recommendation from the FR TAG to proceed with the Special Initiatives Request was adopted by the KCTCS Board of Regents on August 15, 2003. The request has been forwarded to CPE for their consideration.

INTERNAL RESOURCES (IR) TAG Recommendation Accepted:

KCTCS Email Policy – The PLT recommendation from the IR TAG proposal to implement the policy for fall 2003, have been accepted. The IR TAG will continue to review section 7 (Procedures for Mass Communications) and section 8 (Procedure Reference) and make additional recommendations at future PLT meetings.

3.3.21 KCTCS E-Mail Policy, Administrative Policy, dated 8/26/03.

Sick Leave Sharing Policy – The PLT recommendation to implement the IR TAG’s proposed policy revisions to ensure all communications related to sick leave donations are kept confidential in light of the newly effective federal HIPPA regulations, has been accepted. Additionally, the revised policy clarifies criteria for donations consistent with the FMLA (Family Leave Act), and allows sick leave sharing across college district lines.

2.14.2.4.4 KCTCS Sick Leave Sharing Program, Administrative Policy, dated 7/8/03.

Voluntary Faculty Policy – The PLT recommendation to implement the IR TAG proposed revisions to the policy were accepted. The revisions eliminate the use of the Faculty Contract Form for recording information necessary for reporting KCTCS volunteers for liability insurance coverage. The Voluntary Faculty Data form will now be used for this purpose.

Performance Evaluation Forms – The PLT recommendation to implement the IR TAG proposal to reconvene the task force to review the current evaluation forms was accepted.

The Benefactor Circles – The Advancement Peer Team’s recommendation for this donor recognition program was accepted for implementation. The plan recognizes benefactors at different levels based on their cumulative gift history.
