HCC to Host Transfer Fair April 28

Hopkinsville, Ky. (March 27, 2009) - Hopkinsville Community College (HCC) will host a College Transfer Fair April 28 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.  The event will be held in the Academic Building Foyer near the college bookstore.

The annual Fair is an event that allows area college students to explore the programs and benefits of various four-year colleges in a single location, thereby reducing the need to travel to alternative colleges for exploratory visits.  Each year a number of HCC students transfer their associates degree credits on to four-year colleges to pursue their baccalaureate degree interests. As many as 16 colleges from around Kentucky and Tennessee have participated in the Fair in prior years.

The Transfer Fair, sponsored by the Kentucky Association of College Registrars and Admissions Officers (KACRAO), offers students first-hand information from representatives of four-year colleges and universities about how to transfer to these institutions to pursue a baccalaureate degree.  Representatives from these institutions will share:

  • How academic credits transfer from a KCTCS college to a four-year institution;
  • How and where to apply for financial aid;
  • The majors offered at four-year Kentucky institutions and elsewhere; and
  • What campus life is like at the four-year institutions.
For additional information, individuals should contact Mr. Aaron Pettus at 270 - 707-3912.
