Free Concert Sunday

"A Celebration of the 300th Birthday of the Piano" will be presented on Sunday, February 22 at 3:00 p.m. at Henderson Fine Arts Center.

This interactive program will demonstrate harpsichord and piano music from the last 300 years, right in time for the piano to turn 300 years old in 2009!

Diane Earle, professor of music at Kentucky Wesleyan College, will discuss and perform music from many composers and styles, from Galuppi to Gershwin, from Bach to Rachmaninoff, from Baroque to avant-garde.

The audience will get to see the inner workings of a piano and how it is made, and will also enjoy many pictures and stories about the piano and its amazing 300-year history.

The concert is a part of the On Stage Series sponsored by Henderson Fine Arts Center Guild. Everyone is invited to attend this free concert.
