ACTC Seeks Nominations for Math and Science Endowed Chair

Ashland Community & Technical College announced today that the College is seeking nominations for the second recipient of ACTC's Math & Science Endowed Chair Award.

In 2007, a gift of more than $1 million was given to ACTC's Foundation to establish an Endowed Chair in Mathematics and Science at ACTC.  This endowment was established to reward and encourage outstanding math and science faculty on an annual basis in perpetuity.  The recipient of the award will receive an annual cash award of 2% of the value of the endowment fund each year for a two-year period.  An additional award recipient is added each year.

"This endowment is a demonstration of the high quality faculty at ACTC," said Greg Adkins, President of ACTC.  "During the commencement ceremonies on May 9 we are not only looking forward to honoring our graduating class of 2009, but we are also looking forward to announcing the recipient of the Math and Science Endowed Chair."

For most Kentuckians, higher education begins at KCTCS. Our statewide system of 16 colleges and 65 campuses provides citizens throughout the Commonwealth with a quality education that is both accessible and affordable.
