Education coalition to hold news conference on campaign for adequate funding

The Partners for Kentucky's Future will hold a news conference at 12:30 p.m. ET, Wednesday, October 1, in Room 125 of the Capitol Annex.

The purpose of the conference will be to announce the Partners' plans for a campaign to encourage Kentucky's next Governor and the 2004 General Assembly to provide adequate funding for all levels of education: early childhood, elementary and secondary, postsecondary and adult.

A white paper detailing Kentucky's education progress and funding concerns also will be released.

Participants will include representatives of each level of education; Dr. Robert F. Sexton, executive director of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence; and Kathy Lousignont, coordinator of the Partners' campaign.
