Memorial service in Frankfort honors fallen firefighters
FRANKFORT, Ky. (September 24, 2003) -- A ceremony scheduled for Wednesday,
October 1, in Frankfort will honor Kentucky firefighters who have lost their
lives.
The Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service will begin at 11 a.m. October 1 at
Juniper Hills Park located on U.S. 60.
Governor Paul Patton will speak at the service, along with Frankfort Mayor William
May and Franklin County Judge-Executive Teresa Barton.
The service will honor all firefighters who died in 2003, including two who
died in the line of duty -- Kenneth Taylor of Madisonville and Randy Utley of
Grayson.
Sponsors of the event are the Kentucky Firefighters Association; the Kentucky
Professional Firefighters Association; and the State Fire Commission/Fire Rescue
Training, a division of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.
The Kentucky Fire Commission is a division of the Kentucky Community and Technical
