U OF L, KCTCS OFFER ONLINE DEGREE IN JUSTICE ADMINISTRATION

            LOUISVILLE, Ky. - People interested in law enforcement careers such as police, corrections, security and loss prevention can earn their undergraduate degrees completely online through a new program offered by the University of Louisville in partnership with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.

            U of L now offers the bachelor of science in administration of justice degree online, in addition to its master of science in administration of justice degree that has been offered online since 2001.

Students can complete their first two years of general education requirements through the Kentucky Community and Technical College System and then take the U of L core and elective courses in justice administration.

Core courses include overviews of U.S. criminal justice, corrections and law enforcement; criminal behavior, procedure, law and evidence; juvenile justice; research design; and quantitative analysis. Electives can include international terrorism, domestic violence, capital punishment, organized crime, serial murder, sex crimes, profiling violent crimes, community corrections, court administration and computer applications in criminal justice.

Students will apply to KCTCS for the associate degree program (first two years) and to U of L to complete the Web-based bachelor’s degree.
