LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 9, 2003) – Staff members who work for colleges in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System have elected two of their peers to serve on the KCTCS Board of Regents.
Staff members voted this spring to elect these two candidates, who will serve three-year terms beginning in October:
n Liz Hames of Madisonville Community College will replace Mark Powell of Bowling Green Technical College. She has worked for 16 years in higher education: eight years at Indiana State University as director of student publications and associate director of public affairs; two years as public relations director for Owensboro Technical College; and the last six years as public relations director for Madisonville Technical College and Madisonville Community College.
n Kent Robinson of Jefferson Community College will replace Cynthia Fiorella of Owensboro Community and Technical College. He serves as director of human resources and payroll for the Jefferson Community and Technical College District, which comprises JCC and Jefferson Technical College. Robinson worked for more than 20 years in private industry in human resources, payroll and information systems development.
The Board of Regents establishes policy for KCTCS, which comprises 62 campuses open or under construction in 16 districts. The board includes eight citizen members, two students, two staff members and two faculty members.
