LEXINGTON,
Ky. (April 15, 2003) - The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS)
is honoring some of its top faculty and staff for performing exemplary work
on college campuses across the Commonwealth.
At
its New Horizons statewide conference on May 18-19, KCTCS will recognize 16
outstanding faculty members and 16 outstanding staff members from the System’s
districts and colleges, which selected the honorees.
While
names of all honorees are being released now, systemwide winners (one faculty
and one staff) will be announced at a banquet on May 18. Each will receive a
$1,000 prize from the KCTCS Foundation for outstanding contributions to the
colleges and System.
The
New Horizons conference and initiative focus on continuous quality improvement
among KCTCS faculty and staff.
“Our
people are our greatest resource,” said KCTCS President Michael B. McCall. “We
are committed to providing opportunities for their personal and professional
development, and we are committed to recognizing excellence through such processes
