NAMED GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
Private sector investments provide a critical
margin of support that enables SKCTC to
pursue excellence in classroom instruction,
training for business and industry, continuing
education, cultural enrichment, community
service, and economic development.
We consider it an honor to recognize the
benefactors who invest significantly in our
mission and vision. Your name, or the name
of someone you wish to honor, will be
recognized in a special way for your support
of the Fulfilling the Promise Campaign for
SKCTC as outlined in this brochure. Additional
naming opportunities may be developed at
your request. Named giving opportunities
are offered for current gifts, cash pledges
over a five-year period, and irrevocable
planned gifts such as charitable trusts.
Please consider the following naming
opportunities as you consider your
investment in the Fulfilling the Promise
Campaign for Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical
College.
Endowments
SKCTC offers a number of endowment
opportunities for naming purposes. Gifts
provided by donors for endowments are
held and invested in perpetuity to generate
earnings now and in future years to support
the donor's intended purpose. Annual
income generated by endowments can be
used to support faculty and students,
programs, and/or operational needs of
SKCTC.
Named Academic Positions
Endowed Teaching Chair -
Minimum gift of $500,000
Endowed Professorship -
Minimum gift of $100,000
An endowed chair is a distinction awarded
by the KCTCS Board of Regents to a faculty
member in recognition of significant
contributions to the individual's
academic discipline. An endowed chair may
also be held by the current chair or director
of an academic division. In addition to the
academic honor given to the individual, an
endowed chair or professorship provides
funding for support of his or her teaching,
research, and service responsibilities, and
is supported by annual income from a
permanently invested endowment fund.
Income may also be used to support the
base salary of the endowed chair or
professorship, unless expressly prohibited
by the donor or gift agreement.
Endowed Lectureship -
Minimum gift between $10,000 - $100,000
An endowed lectureship is a temporary
appointment and may be given to a
visiting scholar in temporary residence
or may be used to support a lecture series
on the topic for which the lectureship
was created.
Your investment in Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College
will make a significant impact on the lives of our students
and the communities we serve.

SKCTC will name endowed scholarships to
support students attending classes on any

Capital Projects
Several capital construction projects have
been planned for SKCTC, and some have
been started. A variety of naming
opportunities will be available on each of
SKCTC's five campuses. Funds are needed to
equip a large classroom building currently
under construction on the Whitesburg
campus. On the Cumberland campus, work
needs to begin to enclose the portico on
Falkenstine Hall to create more office space
for faculty and staff. Libraries must be
established, updated, and maintained on
SECC's Harlan and Pineville campuses. On
the Middlesboro campus, work needs to
begin on a specialized facility that will
provide training for the National Park
Service and others who need tailored
educational programs.
And, there are a variety of other "capital"
naming opportunities on each of SKCTC's
five campuses in addition to those listed.
Sample guidelines for capital naming
opportunities include:
Exterior

value, or 25 percent of total capital
campaign fund-raising goal.
